Tree Services in Olympia, WA

Five specialized services covering the full scope of tree care — from risk assessments that determine whether felling is required, through sectional rigging, crane dismantling, cleanup, and stump grinding.

Which service do you need?

Most homeowners call us about one of these core situations. If you are not sure which fits, describe what you are seeing when you call and an estimator will assess the site.

Tree Removal

For trees that are dead, structurally failing, or too close to a structure to keep. On tight Olympia lots this means sectional dismantling rather than felling — the tree comes down in pieces roped to the ground.

Choose this if: the tree is dead, has a recent lean with soil heaving, has significant trunk decay, or simply has to go for a project.

Emergency Storm Damage

Triage response for trees already down or actively failing. Work is prioritized by risk: trees on structures, on vehicles, on utility drops, or blocking the only way in or out.

Choose this if: a tree has already come down, is resting on something, or is visibly moving. Call rather than using the form.

Crane Tree Removal

Specialized hydraulic crane dismantling for hazardous, hard-to-reach trees over rooflines, tight backyards, and fragile landscaping with zero property impact.

Choose this if: a tree cannot be safely climbed, has severe trunk rot, or has zero ground drop zone.

Stump Grinding

Grinding the remaining stump and root flare 6 to 12 inches below grade so the area can be reseeded. Cheaper scheduled alongside a removal than as a separate return trip.

Choose this if: you have an existing stump, or you are booking a removal and want the site left flat and plantable.

Hazardous Tree Trimming

Deadwooding, crown reduction, and clearance pruning — the preventative work that keeps a tree you want to keep. Often the right answer when removal is not.

Choose this if: the tree is healthy but has deadwood overhead, limbs on the roof, or growth into a service drop.

When removal is not the answer

Not every problem tree needs to come out, and any crew that recommends removal for every tree they look at is worth a second opinion. A healthy tree with a long-standing lean, deadwood in the crown, or limbs over a roof can usually be managed with pruning or crown reduction at a fraction of the cost of removal.

The situations that genuinely call for removal are structural: substantial decay in the trunk or root collar, a recent lean with cracked or heaving soil on the uphill side, major root damage from excavation, or a dead tree within striking distance of something that matters. If you are unsure which describes your tree, that is what the assessment is for.
